As a healthy breakfast , while exercising or on the go – with these simple protein cereal bars based on our Verival Grain Free Sport Protein Muesli Almond Fig, you provide your body with the right energy boost for the day.
You optimally provide it with proteins, which are vital for cell renewal and muscle building. Thus, these fiber bars are ideal for those who are active in sports and enjoy movement.
Why are proteins so important for the body?
Basically, proteins are the building blocks of all our cells and ensure, for example, healthy hair, skin, and nails. However, the body cannot produce proteins itself. Thus, it is dependent on protein intake through food.
Protein is also the substance that makes up muscle tissue. That is why a protein-rich diet is essential, especially for physically active individuals.
Which protein sources are contained in the bars?
- The main ingredient for the cereal bars is the Verival Grain Free Sport Protein Muesli Almond Fig from the Verival Sport range . This contains an abundance of vegan protein sources, such as sunflower seeds, almonds, cashews, pumpkin seeds, hazelnuts, flaxseeds, and sesame seeds. Nuts and seeds are among the best sources of plant protein.
- In addition to the vegetable protein sources, the bar also contains quark (usually called 'Topfen' in Austrian). This is also a very effective source of protein.

Are the bars sugar-free?
In this recipe, we completely omitted industrial sugar. The bars taste slightly tart due to the currants in the muesli and the quark. The added maple syrup makes it a bit sweeter than a healthier alternative to sugar . Thus, the bars are free from industrial sugar.
Are the bars suitable for a gluten-free diet?
The Verival Grain Free Sport Protein Muesli Almond Fig is gluten-free, and no gluten (e.g., in the form of flour) is added in this recipe. This is why these cereal bars are suitable for a low-gluten or gluten-free diet .
What is the best way to store the bars?
Ideally, the bars should be stored refrigerated; otherwise, they will spoil faster due to the added quark. So it’s best to pack them in an airtight storage container and place them in the fridge. They can be kept there for about 3 to 4 days.
Can I also freeze the bars?
Of course, you can also prepare the bars in advance by simply freezing them after baking and cooling. They thaw in a few hours at room temperature, and you have your healthy protein source ready for breakfast or on the go.
