The granola crispy muesli can be prepared in a variety of ways and with little time. Ingredients such as fruits, berries, nuts, seeds, and kernels add a personal touch to your crunch. However, many crispy cereals contain high concentrations of sugar and fat.
In addition, many manufacturers still use environmentally harmful palm oil to produce their products. What you should know about the delicious crispy muesli, you will find out in this post.
What exactly is crispy muesli?

The crispy muesli was first mentioned in the literature in 1863. James Caleb Jackson brought the first whole grain breakfast cereal to the market and is considered the inventor of granola. Like a cereal, the baked cereal flakes contain dried fruits, nuts, grains, and seeds. The difference lies in the preparation.
For a healthy granola, the oatmeal is baked with honey, maple syrup, or agave syrup. As a result, it maintains its consistency and becomes nicely crispy. Enjoy it with yogurt or milk. You can also enjoy the crunchy as a dry snack.
What ingredients are in the crispy cereal?
Crispy cereals can be made from different grains. Spelt flakes, oatmeal or a flake mixture are suitable. Sugar cane, honey, agave syrup, or maple syrup are ideal for sweetening. Nuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, or pine nuts can refine the crispy cereal. In addition, it is possible to add seeds, fresh fruits, and spices.

When is crispy cereal no longer healthy?
Crispy cereals often contain a lot of sugar and fat. For a healthy breakfast , 550 kcal should not be exceeded. The sugar content in a healthy adult is about 60g per day, and the fat content is about 65g per day.
Therefore, you should pay attention to the nutritional table on the package leaflet. In addition, the "Organic" eco-label must be taken into account when purchasing. This excludes pollutant contamination in this natural product.
Healthy crispy muesli – What should I pay attention to?
When buying a crispy cereal, you should definitely pay attention to the ingredients. A healthy cereal should have a flake content of over 50%.
You should also pay attention to the sugar and fat content, as these vary greatly in the different crunchies offered on the market. Pay attention to the nutritional table and select products that have little industrial processing. Or simply make your own granola from oatmeal.
By opting for milk alternatives or low-fat dairy products, you can also save calories. Top your crispy oatmeal with plenty of fresh fruit and berries or combine it with a porridge . Fruit satiates and gives your body lots of vitamins and minerals.
If you want to do something good for the environment, you should buy palm oil-free products.
Oatmeal, spelt oatmeal
Oatmeal, as well as spelt flakes, are very healthy. They contribute to a healthy diet and are suitable for weight loss. The cereals contain a lot of vitamin B and phosphorus. They support cell buildup and metabolism. The contained silica promotes mental vitality and enhances the ability to concentrate.
Avoid sugar cheaply

Many crispy cereals contain high fructose from corn or wheat starch. This cheap sugar substitute has a much higher fructose content than ordinary table sugar.
Sunflower oil instead of palm oil
To protect the environment, crispy muesli should be made with sunflower oil. To create the palm plantations, large areas of rainforest are burned every year, causing maximal CO2 emissions. People are also displaced by corrupt machinations, forced labor, and child labor.
Milk, yogurt, and milk alternatives
The cereal flakes can be refined with dairy products such as yogurt, kefir, or Greek yogurt. For vegans, there are plant-based milk alternatives such as oat milk, almond milk, rice milk, or soy milk that can be used for the muesli.
The right toppings – fruits, berries, nuts
The icing on the cake for your crunchy cereal is the right toppings. Seasonal fruits and berries are ideal for this. With nuts such as cashews, walnuts, or almonds, you can perfectly round off your crispy muesli and give it an extra crispy effect.
